Commanding 2009

Today is the 3rd day of 2009. Are you in command of your year? Or is your year commanding you, just as it did in 2008. Last year, I had read a prophesy that focused on Mark 4:35-45 and it continues to stay on my mind. With everything that is going on in the 'world', God is still saying to us 'Peace Be Still'. Basically, He is still saying to us command your situation. That he is still on the throne and YOU still have the authority to command your situation. Remember Jesus reprimanded the disciples: "Why are you such cowards? Don't you have any faith at all?" "Why are you so timid and fearful? How is it that you have no faith (no firmly relying trust)?" Do you want to hear that from God. After everything he has done for you, every situation that he has pulled you through and you still don't have faith in Him. Since the news has been talking about the stock market going down, that we are in a recession; none of this has phased me a bit. My answer to all that talk - "But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus " Phil 4:19. What is so personal about this statement is that 'My God'. Make this scripture personal - 'But my God shall supply all Mary's needs according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus'. God is still in control. That statement is commanding your life and how it is to operate. You are saying that I don't operate by the world system, but I operate by God's system. Have you every looked up the definition of Command. I looked it up. It means the following:
1. To direct with authority; give orders to.
2. To have control or authority over; rule:
3. To exercise dominating, authoritative influence over: "He commands any room he enters" (Stephen Schiff).
4. The act of commanding.

Now is that powerful or what? Isn't that what God is telling us throughout the Bible. To take authority , to have control. I really like #3 example of the definition, "He commands any room he enters". Let's change it around, "You command any situation that you are in". That is exercising dominating. In Genesis 1:18, God dominated the day and the night and he saw that it was good. Since we are suppose to be like God, then we should be dominating are day and night. YOU should be Commanding Your Day! Don't let another year go by, that you are not in COMMAND. Command 2009!

Mark 4:35-45 (The Message) Read King James and Amplified version.

 35-38Late that day he said to them, "Let's go across to the other side." They took him in the boat as he was. Other boats came along. A huge storm came up. Waves poured into the boat, threatening to sink it. And Jesus was in the stern, head on a pillow, sleeping! They roused him, saying, "Teacher, is it nothing to you that we're going down?"

 39-40Awake now, he told the wind to pipe down and said to the sea, "Quiet! Settle down!" The wind ran out of breath; the sea became smooth as glass. Jesus reprimanded the disciples: "Why are you such cowards? Don't you have any faith at all?"

 41They were in absolute awe, staggered. "Who is this, anyway?" they asked. "Wind and sea at his beck and call!"

Genesis 1:18: GOD'S WORD® Translation (©1995)
to dominate the day and the night, and to separate the light from the darkness. God saw that it was good.

Wisdom Circle

I had an amazing day. I was able to spend time with what I call the 'Wisdom Circle'. This is when you have the opportunity to spend time with women that have years of experience. I was able to spend the day with two ladies that have years of wisdom. It was a life changing experience. On top of just spending the day with them, I had a piece of the best Sweet Potato pie I have ever tasted and received an angel.

If you don't have a 'Wisdom Circle', don't start 2009 without one. This is an opportunity to 'sit at the feet' of women that have years of experience and wisdom over your own. Where you can ask them questions about life, relationships, marriage, sex, money, raising kids - whatever your heart desires. As these women mentor you, they help guide, nurture, and prepare you as you mature deeper into womenhood, into wisdom, and into yourself. They also act as a sounding board for your ideas, projects and aspirations. Choose your wisdom circle wisely. You want to have women that you know you can trust and are willing to share their wisdom and experience with you.
Proverbs 3:
13 Blessed is the man who finds wisdom,
the man who gains understanding,

14 for she is more profitable than silver
and yields better returns than gold.

15 She is more precious than rubies;
nothing you desire can compare with her.

16 Long life is in her right hand;
in her left hand are riches and honor.

17 Her ways are pleasant ways,
and all her paths are peace.

18 She is a tree of life to those who embrace her;
those who lay hold of her will be blessed.

Be Blessed in 2009!

Spiritual Rest

This morning I was reading 'Sparking Gems from the Greek' by Rick Renner. The subject was "Spiritual Rest" Matthew 11:28. The study was about taking the time to making God your top priority of the day, everyday. This subject touched home with me. I get up in the morning 5 a.m. planning to spend time with God; sometimes I am totally focus on doing that, then other days I allow distractions to come in. This reminded me that I have to schedule time to sit in God's presence. To rest in Him - " Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." Today, take the time as we go into 2009 to make God part of your schedule everyday. Check out your schedule and make God the top priority of your day, everyday.
