1. To direct with authority; give orders to.
2. To have control or authority over; rule:
3. To exercise dominating, authoritative influence over: "He commands any room he enters" (Stephen Schiff).
4. The act of commanding.
Now is that powerful or what? Isn't that what God is telling us throughout the Bible. To take authority , to have control. I really like #3 example of the definition, "He commands any room he enters". Let's change it around, "You command any situation that you are in". That is exercising dominating. In Genesis 1:18, God dominated the day and the night and he saw that it was good. Since we are suppose to be like God, then we should be dominating are day and night. YOU should be Commanding Your Day! Don't let another year go by, that you are not in COMMAND. Command 2009!

Mark 4:35-45 (The Message) Read King James and Amplified version.
35-38Late that day he said to them, "Let's go across to the other side." They took him in the boat as he was. Other boats came along. A huge storm came up. Waves poured into the boat, threatening to sink it. And Jesus was in the stern, head on a pillow, sleeping! They roused him, saying, "Teacher, is it nothing to you that we're going down?"
39-40Awake now, he told the wind to pipe down and said to the sea, "Quiet! Settle down!" The wind ran out of breath; the sea became smooth as glass. Jesus reprimanded the disciples: "Why are you such cowards? Don't you have any faith at all?"
41They were in absolute awe, staggered. "Who is this, anyway?" they asked. "Wind and sea at his beck and call!"
to dominate the day and the night, and to separate the light from the darkness. God saw that it was good.
